Trump Swamp Saga Continues

Those pesky radical left vandals, I tell ya.

Donald Trump is really struggling to find much, if any, positive press these days. Between Democrats over-performing and winning special elections all across the country, his approval ratings being abysmal and even dropping amongst Republicans, the Iran peace deal (which is really just a disastrous surrender on our behalf), and now the entire debacle of the Lincoln Reflecting Pool, which has consumed national headlines, he cannot catch a break. Deservedly so. If there is one thing Trump is not, it is bashful. Had he not done his usual performative vanity projects and trashed past administrations while drawing attention to what he is doing, many people might not even be aware of how embarrassing, wasteful, and calamitous this reflecting pool project has been. 

As the pool is consumed with algae and pieces of what appears to be paint from the newly painted base of the pool, Donald Trump is now calling vandalism from “radical left Democrats who are out to destroy the project and country”. As per usual, he is citing this without any evidence. I have been to the reflecting pool; I know what security is like there. There is no possible way “Antifa” or “leftist groups” are going to have the ability to vandalize the pool and pour gallons of algae back into the pool. The first person who carries a bucket near the pool or dips their hand into it to peel off paint would be stopped, questioned, and detained immediately. This is just a farcical accusation. 

We could predict this too. This is another constant of the Trump playbook. When things are not going his way or according to plan, it is always some Democrat's or “radical leftists'” fault. Any form of accountability escapes this man. It is truly fascinating how Trump and Republicans can label Democrats and anybody with a left-wing ideology as this weak and feeble party with the inability to accomplish anything, but in that same breath suggest that left-wingers are this monstrous, destructive, powerful force destroying America and preventing the Republican Party from accomplishing anything. For instance, apparently, Democrats have the ability to usher in 30 million undocumented immigrants to illegally vote in the 2024 election, but then proceed to lose the election, all without a single fraudulent voter being detained and convicted of any crime. Now “radical leftists” are able to smuggle in hundreds of buckets of algae and dump them into the reflecting pool, all completely undetected overnight. I hate this timeline.

That is not to say the administration is not trying. They have actually detained several people and are investigating several more for “vandalizing” the pool. One notable case is a man from Maryland who was arrested after putting his hand in the pool and touching the side. Clearly, this is one of the dozens of deranged maniacs out to destroy government property and national landmarks. Forget about the fact that even if individuals were able to pull up every last chunk of paint from the base of the pool, again undetected, it would not explain the mass algae takeover.
