Someone is afraid of powerful women

Jesse Watters is such a disgraceful human being. He might be my least favorite talking head on Fox. He is disingenuous, backward, and a complete sycophant for everything wrong in our society. He is a true champion of what this MAGA movement is all about. I could dedicate an entire blog to commenting on every nonsensical, propaganda-driven talking point presented by the pundits on the airwaves of Fox. I try not to spend too much time on this, but sometimes there are rants, comments, and justifications made by individuals like Watters that are so downright appalling, I have to stop and tear down their arguments. It was barely one week ago that he was on television advocating for the U.S. military personnel - the men in particular - to triple down on their testosterone and, if sexual assault happens, it happens. He was beyond excited to fantasize about rape and share it with America.
These comments I am about to present that he made the other night perfectly demonstrate how Jesse Watters views women and their role in society, and I think it is an encapsulation of where many Republican men currently stand as well. Not all, but the vast majority of them - especially the diehard triple Trump-voting MAGA buffoons. Here is Watters’ rant verbatim:
“I want to talk about these college-educated downwardly mobile women. Cause it’s mostly women. If you are going to take out a loan to get a degree in the humanities or the social sciences, what are you thinking? And then you’re gonna get bitter cause you’re single. And if you’re a woman, men don’t care if you have a PHD. That is not high on our list of attributes. And if you’re a woman and you’re looking at a guy who can’t provide resources, you’re not really in the market. So you’re going to get angry. And then you’re going to get ugly. And you’re going to have a bad attitude.
No one wants to hire anybody with a bad attitude. No one wants to date anybody with a bad attitude, but you can dig yourself out of the hole. You could take a job in a totally different field and work your tail off, or you could move somewhere else. Or maybe, just maybe, you could get it together and find love. And then you could build a life together cause it’s a lot easier to do that with someone else with another income.”
I mean, who is actually watching this garbage? I guess it pays the bills to pander to a geriatric age group of men who would love to return to a time when women could not open their own checking accounts or file for no-fault divorce. Watters better hope women do not stop pursuing social sciences degrees because someone needs to be available for him for the therapy he obviously needs, as he is deathly afraid of successful, independent women who do not need sniveling, weak, egotistical men such as himself to make them feel complete.
Just a fun piece of information here: Jesse Watters somehow squeaked through college with a degree in History, which typically falls under the very humanities degrees he is criticizing women for pursuing. His mother is a child psychologist, which falls under, you know, a social sciences degree. This man is clueless. I mentioned this in my previous post about him, but do not forget how he got together with his current wife. This man cheated on his previous wife in the pursuit of a woman fourteen years younger than he is, and he got to her by letting out the air in her tires so that he could offer her rides home. Jesse Watters is a perfect, absolutely perfect, embodiment of the misogyny that plagues so many men in this country.
To suggest that women’s only role in our society is to stay pretty, shut up, not educate themselves, and only serve men in a subordinate role is obviously disgusting and out of touch. He, and the countless MAGA men like him, cannot stand the idea of a powerful woman. Not even just powerful, but women who have careers, passions, and desires that do not involve being homemakers for their partner. These men are terrified of the notion that women do not need them. Their way of thinking is not desirable or sustainable. Women are not avoiding you because they are financially independent and career independent; they are avoiding you because you have the mentality of a caveman.
We are growing (very slowly) as a society, and that is something the manosphere cannot comprehend. The multiple waves of feminism are not the problem. The patriarchy is. To demonstrate how restrictive the patriarchy is and how it has functioned to maintain women as second-class citizens, here are just a few hurdles women have overcome in the past one hundred years:
Women needed a male’s or husband’s signature to open credit cards, bank accounts, and sign contracts up until the 1970’s.
We are just over 100 years since women secured the right to vote via the Nineteenth Amendment.
The first woman to hold federal office was not until 1917. We went 141 years as a country without a female serving in any capacity in Congress.
Legal and physical access to contraception was not until 1960, and not widespread until Griswold v Connecticut in 1965.
Severe wage discrimination (which is still being fought to this day) prior to the Equal Pay Act of 1963. Prior to this act, women on average were making 59 cents for every dollar earned by a male. Many companies fired women for getting married or becoming pregnant, and there were literal segregated job postings for women with different pay scales than their male counterparts.
Prior to 1970, women could not seek no-fault divorce. In the years following no-fault divorce implementation, suicide rates among women dropped by as much as 20%.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. I mean, for many of you reading this, your mothers and grandmothers were alive as these laws and bills were adjudicated. Misogynistic men, like Jesse Watters, need to adapt or die. Feminism is not out to destroy you and make it harder for you to find a date. Do some self-reflecting before you pursue a romantic partner. The female population is not here to serve you, to be your mother, or to be your doormat. The female population is your equal. One of the core principles of feminism is equality amongst all sexes, genders, and races. The sooner that is understood, the sooner we can implement a healthy, functioning, equitable society, and leave men like Watters in the dustbin of societal progress. He needs to work on his attitude and maybe smile more.
