Donald Trump Loves War Crimes

And he hates the free press

I really miss the days when the president of the United States was presented with a question by the free press, and we actually got a response, instead of the fascistic, “fake news” answer we have seen for a decade now. Of the many things I will not miss from the Trump era, this will rank towards the very top. When presented with a very legitimate question and concern by a New York Times reporter on the war crimes the United States has committed and is threatening to commit against Iran, Donald Trump had this response: 

Reporter: “You’re talking about blowing up civilian power plants and bridges. Much of the civilized world would consider that a war crime. Do you?”

Donald Trump: “Uhhh, I won’t respond to that question. Who are you with?”

Reporter: “The New York Times”

Donald Trump: “I figured so. The failing New York Times.”

That is obviously not a sufficient answer. I will go ahead and answer that question for the president. Yes. Yes, it is a war crime to blow up civilian power plants, bridges, and infrastructure. We do not even have to consider the possibility of these threats coming to fruition, because they already have occurred dozens, if not hundreds, of times over. The United States and Israel have committed war crime after war crime, and human rights violation after human rights violation against Iran in this engagement. Iranian judicial authorities have presented 3,000 complaints to the UN of civilian infrastructure targeting and military action. Geneva Conventions who?

As of right now, at least 1,700 Iranian civilians have been killed in this illegal war, and 18 U.S. servicemen and women have been killed, with hundreds more wounded. This administration is directly responsible for the bloodshed of these civilians and is equally responsible for the deaths of the members of our military. This is all on Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, Marco Rubio, and Pete Hegseth. This was all Trump’s decision after Benjamin Netanyahu sat in the Situation Room and convinced our president to go to war with Iran. Netanyahu has been trying this for four decades. He tried it with George W. Bush Jr., Barack Obama, and Joe Biden, and they all said no. Donald Trump is the only one stupid enough and senile enough to commit our tax dollars, our resources, our domestic prices, and our soldiers’ lives for an unjustifiable and reckless war. 

Here is a compiled list of war crimes we have committed since this war started:

• On the first day, we struck an all-girls elementary school in Minab that killed at least 168 people. I want to repeat that. On day one, the U.S. military deliberately struck an elementary school and killed over one hundred children. Children. 

• Also on the first day, the U.S. struck a sports hall in Lamerd, resulting in several civilian casualties.

• We have repeatedly struck civilian structures such as bridges, hospitals, homes, oil refineries, ports, communication hubs, grain silos, water plants, et cetera. The United States and Israel have damaged or destroyed tens of thousands of these structures as reported by the Iranian Red Crescent Society. We spend by far the most on defense and our military than any other country on earth. Failing to be 100% accurate in intelligence prior to lethal strikes is a gross level of malfeasance. This administration does not care about any of this, and I hope Pete Hegseth faces the accountability that George Bush, Dick Cheney, and the Bush administration escaped when we killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis in the same unjustified manner. There needs to be trials when this is over. Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump, and Marco Rubio are war criminals. Earlier this year, the Trump administration made significant rollbacks in the Department of Defense, including dropping the number of Judge Advocates General advisors from over 200 personnel to less than 40. These Judge Advocate General advisors help evaluate the legality of military targets and help prevent us from committing war crimes 

• The United States and Israel struck civilian oil refineries in Tehran, which rained down toxic sludge on the civilian population. Not only is it a war crime to strike energy infrastructure in this manner, but there are estimates of thousands of Iranians developing cancer over the next several decades as a result of the toxins in the air and oil precipitation in the city.

• There are also investigations into Israel and the U.S. engaging in “double-tap” strikes on the school in Minab as well as the destruction of the B1 Bridge in Karaj. For those not familiar, that means a second missile strike shortly after the initial strike, which essentially targets first responders and civilians. Israel has done this multiple times throughout their genocide of Palestinians. 

Do not forget the constant threats that Donald Trump has made on social media, which have also insinuated war crimes and violations of international law. Back in April, President Trump threatened to “send Iran back to the Stone Age” if they did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz. He threatened genocide against the entire Iranian population by suggesting he would wipe out the entire country’s civilization. He has also threatened to use reprisal strikes on civilian infrastructure for every single ship halted, detained, or fired upon by Iranian forces in the Hormuz Strait. This is completely insane. There must be accountability for Donald Trump and anyone complicit in these actions in this administration. We as a country and our military cannot continue to get away with committing atrocities around the globe without reprisal. I am going to call for this again: If the Democrats regain control in 2028, Nuremberg-style trials of this regime must be on the agenda. These men belong in the Hague.
