And where is the Democratic Party?

Angie Nixon and Abdul El-Sayed continue to face the utmost racist and bigoted vitriol from Republican media. They continue to fight this battle alone on an island, as the Democratic Party is nowhere to be found to support them as they face unadulterated character- and trope-based attacks. I have a few screenshots of some recent social media posts surrounding both Senate-hopeful candidates, where I will set up why the Democratic Party is absent and how the Republican Party continues to function in its final form - a genuine, far-right party.

Let us start with El-Sayed. He has been no stranger to facing blatant Islamophobic and racist attacks from his challenger, Mike Rogers, Republican Party leadership, and its conglomerated media. A new attacker has entered the fray, and it is truly astonishing. Bari Weiss’s, or should I say Donald Trump’s, CBS News released an article tying El-Sayed’s name to 9/11, as screenshotted below.

This is a truly unbelievable and disgusting slander piece from what was once a respected news network. With Weiss’s alliance with Donald Trump, there is no reason to be surprised by such a lazy piece coming out. It is the same old recipe of conflating a Muslim individual with 9/11 and adding the new, not-so-secret ingredient of “he does not condemn Twitch streamer Hassan Piker”. It is remarkable how low American mainstream political media has gone. Both media spheres, Republican and Democrat, are desperately floundering in attempting to attach someone or something to scare the electorate away from the sweeping progressive, social democratic, and DSA movement in the country right now. The agenda or platform of this wing of the Democratic Party is immensely popular, as it should be, as it is rooted in uplifting the American working class, forcing billionaires and millionaires to pay their fair share in taxes, and ending unconditional U.S. support for Israel in the wake of their genocide against Palestinians. This is a very summarized version of the policy platform being presented, but it has establishment lawmakers and the donor class in the GOP and Democratic Party terrified. Hassan Piker is not going to be a scary enough face to convince Americans that El-Sayed is pro 9/11, pro-Sharia installation in the United States, and pro-communism. The Islamophobic tropes have been exhausted.

Next, I want to highlight the horrifying racist attack by Laura Loomer on Florida Senate Democratic candidate Angie Nixon. It started with Loomer, the far-right political activist, spewing an extremely racist diatribe on her podcast and then following up by taking those same words to social media, where she described Angie Nixon as a “ghetto bitch who speaks Ebonics”.

The attack was even too far for former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who condemned the remarks.

There are several things I want to address here. A, I commend Nixon’s response to Loomer, and B, she handled it as gracefully as one can. She sees right through the nonsense. Loomer’s attacks are simply functioning as a distraction from the fact that Republican Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, and his administration misappropriated $10 million in state taxpayer funds into a charity connected to DeSantis’ wife. Those funds were diverted from a settlement connected to the state’s Medicaid. Ashley Moody, the Republican challenger in the Senate race, would obviously want to avoid responding to any concerns about Republican leadership in the state going forward. This is what Laura Loomer is best suited for: to be a pathetic talking head only useful as a racial scapegoat when things get tough for the GOP.

I also want to briefly discuss Marjorie Greene here. While I am happy she came to Nixon’s defense and has been a staunch critic of Donald Trump and the Republican Party’s illegal war in Iran, the Epstein debacle, and the Israeli genocide, that is all she is good for. She can continue to divide the Republican electorate over these issues, but make no mistake on several key elements here. Greene is remarkably selfish and not an ally at all. Do not forget that she voted with Donald Trump on 98% of his and the Republican Party’s agenda. She only broke with him over the Epstein cover-up, the Iran war, and the Israeli genocide. Prior to that, she was an ardent defender of Trump’s on January 6th, pro “America-first movement”, all in on the MAGA movement, pro ICE, and even led the resolution to censure Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib. Tlaib being a Palestinian, of course. So do not buy Taylor Greene’s anti-Israel act. If she really cared about the genocide and the other two issues I presented that she broke off from Trump over, she would not have tried to have Tlaib censured, and she would have stayed in Congress in her safe, deep red seat and been able to continually break the party line. She would have done more damage in Congress than by regularly appearing on Tucker Carlson’s podcast.

I believe this is all a setup to run for president in 2028. She is saying the right things now that a significant portion of Republican voters would favor. She has denied that she is going to run, but I think it is more conceivable than Tucker Carlson running. I do not see her falling in line and supporting Vance the way I think Carlson will. If Greene runs, do I think she will win the Republican primary? No, I think it is almost unimaginable. However, I believe she is certainly positioning herself for it, and when she loses, she will back whichever far-right populist the Republican Party has as a presidential nominee. Because let us be real, the Republican Party is not going back towards traditional conservatism any time soon.

I apologize for that rambling, but I think it is important to address Green and Carlson right now. They are complete snakes who are hoping enough people on the left forget about their racist, Islamophobic, anti-LGBTQIA+, isolationist, white-nationalist past in an attempt to steer them away from a Democratic Party that is having infighting at the moment. They are using the genocide as political theatre for the Republican Party they claim to have abandoned. However, this transitions perfectly into my critique of the Democratic Party, particularly in communication and amongst the establishment.

In these racist and Islamophobic attacks against El-Sayed and Nixon, where the hell is the Democratic Party? I would throw in Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Mamdani into this as well. All of these progressives, social democrats, and DSA-adjacent candidates who are being lambasted in the right-wing media appear to be left on an island in the middle of the ocean to defend their character. These horrific attacks by Republican candidates should be layups if we had a functioning Democratic Party. I mean this in the sense of communication. Why is the Democratic establishment leaving Nixon and El-Sayed alone when the party should be on the offensive? Force Moody and Mike Rogers to condemn these comments made by Loomer and pundits like her, as Taylor Greene was able to. For God's sake, Marjorie Taylor Greene was able to call out appalling levels of racism before Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and Corey Booker were able to, in defense of their own party’s candidates!

They (establishment Democrats) are not going to halt the excitement that stiffens up the spines of racist Republican voters in the things Loomer said, but effective messaging that forces the GOP’s candidates to separate from it would go a long way in the independent vote. We all know Rogers and Moody, who are pro-Trump MAGA Republicans, are not going to condemn Loomer's comments. This should be an easy win. Democratic donors and establishment members of the party will not do it because of ideological differences. The further-left candidates of the party, who incidentally just want to return to FDR-style policies when the Democratic Party flourished while it protected the American working class, are going to have to do this on their own. The establishment will learn. Presently, though, they would rather see Republicans win than their own party. What happened to the big tent? It must have gotten lost in the race for the same super PAC and Zionist dollars that the Republican Party is beholden to.
